Newton Place, Glasgow

This project involved the subdivision of a grade B mid terraced office premises to provide two high quality duplex apartments with main door access to each. The interior of the building was in a poor state of repair having been converted to a commercial office over many years. As well as restoring and replacing many of the original features within the building the subdivision was designed to have minimum impact on the original house layout. The larger apartment to the upper floors retains the main front entrance and hallway as well as service rooms at basement level leading to a new rear walled garden. A new stone stair and cast-iron railings give private access to a new entrance to the lower flat. It also has a rear door leading into a small private garden space accessed from a spacious dining kitchen.
