Banavie Road, Hyndland

This project involved the remodelling, extension and attic conversion of an existing stone one and a half storey house set on a large plot in the west end of Glasgow. At ground floor level the existing kitchen is converted to a spacious utility room. An existing dining room is converted to a spacious kitchen / diner with a glazed extension pushing into the rear garden. A large opening is formed between this room and the existing lounge to the front of the house. This open plan layout allows natural light to flood the house from front to rear. In the kitchen glazed doors give access to a landscaped courtyard leading to the terraced garden above. At first floor two large zinc clad dormers to the rear allow the conversion of attic space. One houses a new double bedroom with the other creating a large en suite facility for the master bedroom.
